Have you tried the block libraries at 'http://cben.net'?
They have many different types of blocks for free download.

ding!ding!ding! we have a winner! exactly what i was looking for! thank you very much.

query, why are cad files of piping fixtures so obscure to find, the should be some of the most common items used?

*Aug

Piping usually appears in schematic form with the use of symbols.
Actual details are a bit hard to find.

or you have to buy third party software to do actual modeling.

jackshield

when i find some time, i am going to load cben with a ton of mech parts

dgorsman

Its far faster to model (or draw in 2D) using simplified objects rather than detailed objects, plus it makes for much smaller files.

Details are fairly easy to find - Crane and Cooper-Cameron are good sources. Actual CAD files are quite rare.

i understand the process, however, i have been tasked with creating a 3d representation, at scale, of the compressed air system. i will have to use this drawing to rework current system after efficiency study has been made.

Crap, now you have to chant "Blue Moon" at your next voodoo ritual... and as
you know that could produce undesirable results.

Try www.CADDetails.com
